I’m back again today with a new(ish) product that Mugsby is excited to begin offering: dishwasher magnets. As many of you know, we’ve been venturing into the wood personalizing space, and we love these ultra-chic magnets that are perfect for those of us who are busy AF and need as many helpful reminders as possible throughout the day.
Juggling a home life and a work life is tough, ya’ll. Sometimes, I feel like even though my husband and I live in the same house, and spend every waking moment with one another, our wires still get crossed. There’s nothing I hate more than opening up the dishwasher to get my favorite mug, to find that someone (who will remain un-named) put their dirty dishes into the dishwasher that I ran last night before bed. So now, it’s like a gross roulette game of “what’s clean vs. what’s dirty,” all before my morning coffee.
Having this handy dandy magnet stuck to my dishwasher has seriously been an amazing communication tool for us, and also a reminder for me, as well. When I go to bed at night, I flip it around to “clean” and that way we both know in the morning that it needs to be emptied, before adding in anything dirty.
I love the plain design of these dishwasher magnets, and the subtle “stop sign shape” (as my preschooler labeled it.) It isn’t loud and flashy, but it gets the job done and looks damn good doing it. The magnet is secured to the back, and the entire item isn’t heavy or bulky, so it won’t scratch up your chic looking stainless steel appliances. As a mother, too, this has really helped encourage my small children to help with dishes, too. They may not be able to do tons of household chores (yet. Mwahaha) but when they see the “clean” side up, they rush to help me put away the forks and spoons that are clean and ready to use.
Our dishwasher magnets are:
- These are handmade from birch plywood with a 1/4 inch thickness
- Hexagonal shape measuring 4.25 inches where the sides meet and 4.75 inches where the edges meet
- The image is engraved into the wood
- A magnet is attached on the back for convenience
- Slight scorching may appear around the engrave marks though we take great care in preventing that as much as possible!
